Marmaris is a Mediterranean resort town along the Turkish Riviera (also known as the Turquoise Coast) with a busy, pebbly beach and long seafront promenade.

It’s known for its lively nightlife on Bar Street, which is home to open-air clubs and music venues. Marmaris sits in a valley between pine-forested mountains and clear waters, which are popular sailing and diving destinations.


Marmaris has a hot-summer Mediterranean climate characterised by a hot dry summer and mild rainy winter. Showers and rain are very unlikely between May and October. Summers are hot and dry, and temperatures are especially high during the heatwaves in July and August.Winters are mild and wet.


Turkish is the main language used, however English is often used in all tourist areas.


Turkish Lira is the main currency, however sterling and dollars re accepted in most tourist areas.
